A skincare routine for humid weather

A skincare routine for humid weather

In Dhaka’s heat, the heavy creams and long routines made for cold countries often feel sticky by noon. The fix is not to skip skincare, it is to choose lighter textures and fewer steps.

Keep the morning short

Cleanse, a watery toner, a light gel moisturiser and sunscreen. If your skin is oily, you can skip the moisturiser and let a hydrating toner and sunscreen do the work.

Do the “extra” steps at night

Serums and masks sit better on the skin in the evening, when you are not sweating or going out in the sun.

Layer thin, not thick

Two thin layers of toner feel lighter than one thick cream. Pat each layer in and wait a few seconds before the next.

Do not forget the air conditioner

Hours in an air-conditioned office can dry the skin even in the monsoon. Keep a hydrating essence at your desk and pat a little in at lunchtime.
